Cirque Kalabanté’s Afrique en Cirque, created by Yamoussa Bangoura, is a vibrant celebration of daily life in Guinea. Bursting with color, energy, and artistry, the show highlights the strength, agility, and joyful spirit of African culture. Acrobats perform gravity-defying feats and human pyramids, all set to the dynamic sounds of live music, including percussion and kora. The result is a dazzling fusion of movement and rhythm that fills the theater with excitement.

Hudson Museum Mini Exhibit: Yaka Initiation Masks

Look in the CCA Lobby for the Hudson’s mini exhibit of African mask worn during the initiation ceremonies among the Yaka in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These masks provide protective powers during the ceremony and also serve to introduce Yaka community values and morals to the initiates. Once the ceremony has been completed, the masks were usually destroyed.
