BSO – Masterworks III – Noble Splendor
BSO – Masterworks III – Noble Splendor
Take a journey with us as we travel through the regions of Austria, America, Poland and
Germany to experience lyricism and connection through the noble splendor of orchestral
compositional giants. The overture to Mozart’s short opera, Der Schauspieldirektor (The
Impresario), and the Violin Concerto No. 2 by Wieniawski both engage the listener with
beautiful, singing melodies that are contrasted with dramatic flair and comedic wit.
Schubert was known for having composed over 600 lieder, and the singing quality of his
melodies is heard throughout the “Great” symphony.
