NY Voices

On the eve before the All-State Music Festival, students and the public will be treated to a concert by New York Voices, the Grammy-winning vocal jazz quartet. They have been captivating audiences since 1988 with their signature blend of intricate harmonies, adventurous arrangements, and genre-defying repertoire. Comprised of Darmon Meader, Kim Nazarian, Peter Eldridge, and Lauren Kinhan, the group seamlessly merges jazz tradition with contemporary flair, drawing from sources as diverse as the Beatles, Chick Corea, Duke Ellington, and Brazilian composer Ivan Lins. With decades of acclaimed recordings, international touring, and dedication to jazz education, NYV continues to evolve while remaining rooted in their dynamic ensemble sound.
