Rennie Harris PureMovement – American Street Dance Theater
Rennie Harris PureMovement (RHPM) is the leading Hip-hop and street dance theater company in the U.S., dedicated to preserving and sharing the spirit of street dance culture for over 35 years. Founded by Rennie Harris, RHPM blends rich storytelling, social commentary, and virtuosic movement to challenge misconceptions and celebrate the roots of Hip-hop.
Harris, hailed as a pioneer of street dance theater, has earned acclaim worldwide and has been compared to dance legends like Alvin Ailey and Bob Fosse. His groundbreaking works, including the award-winning Rome & Jewels, have toured globally, earning praise from critics and communities alike.
RHPM continues to push artistic boundaries with evening-length works that explore identity, race, and social justice. Their Collins Center performance of Nuttin’ But a Word happens just prior to their return to New York’s Joyce Theater.
